There are two tehsils namely KARWI and MAU and five blocks Chitrakoot Dham Karwi, Ramnagar, Mau, Manikpur, Pahadi in the district. Karwi City have its own AIRPORT which is at underconstruction,situated at DEWANGANA GHATI,KARWI which is 15 kilometers far from the railway station. Chitrakoot, the celebrated pilgrimage town is 8 km. south of Karvi town and 70 km. south-east of Banda district on the road to Allahabad. A tranquil retreat, it is located on the northern spur of the Vindhyas. Chitrakoot, 'the hill of many wonders', is a gift of nature and the gods.
